Buffalo is ranked #24 in ACHA

Buffalo #24 in Recent Rankings

The University at Buffalo Men’s Ice Hockey team is up one spot to #24 in the most recent ACHA DI rankings. With a great showing against #12 Adrian College including a 4-3 OT loss and two big wins against ECHL opponents University of Rochester and Rochester Institute of Technology, the Bulls are proving that cracking the top 25 early this season was no fluke.

The accolades for UB do not stop there. Freshman forward Matt Ganci was named “ECHL Player of the Week” for his exceptional play this past weekend. Ganci tallied four goals and four assists as the Bulls beat Rochester 10-3 and RIT 8-4. This marks the first time that a UB player has earned the award this season.

The team would also like to acknowledge freshman forward Scott Mack who scored his first collegiate goal last Friday against Rochester. The goal was well deserved for Mack whose work ethic and relentless play has been an extremely positive influence on his teammates. To follow-up his achievement, Mack also added two goals Saturday against RIT.

NOTES: UB will be hosting the annual “Blizzard in Buffalo” on December 4th and 5th. This years participants are UB, Ithaca College, Scranton University, and John Carroll University. These are the last two home games for the Bulls before the University breaks for winter. All games will be played at the Amherst Pepsi Center.
