Buffalo wins "Blizzard in Buffalo"

The #24 UB Bulls took 1st place at their annual "Blizzard in Buffalo" tournament on December 4th and 5th. With wins over Ithaca College and John Carroll University, UB regained the title that had alluded them recently and ended the semester on an upswing.

In the preliminary round, Buffalo defeated Ithaca 8-4 behind strong offensive performances from senior forward Kevin Fischer and sophomore defenseman Gavin Ingster. Fischer tallied 2 goals and an assist while Ingster scored his first collegiate goal and added an assist. Junior forward Timmy Newbold also chipped in with 2 goals.

On Saturday, the Bulls faced off for the championship against John Carroll. Led by the stellar play of goaltender Richie Latona and a goal and an assist by senior forward Chris Kokkinis, UB came out on top 4-3. Overall, Buffalo finished the weekend with 12 players tallying 2 or more points. The Bulls head into the winter break with a record of 11-6-1 and look to make a run at the ECHL championship starting in January.
